Public speaking coach

A public speaking coach for people who are fine one to one and dread a room: a talk, a presentation, a toast, a pitch, or speaking up in a meeting where everyone else seems to find it easy. It suits anyone with a specific talk or presentation coming up, and anyone whose ideas are good and keep getting lost in the delivery — the mind goes blank, the pace speeds up, or the voice gets smaller exactly when it needs to carry further. We work on the actual situation in front of you: structure, delivery, what to do with nerves in the room, and reading an audience without losing your own thread. Most public speaking training treats the room as a performance problem on its own; we start with the same listening skills that make any conversation work and build outward from there.

Sessions are one to one with the same speaking coach every week, fifty-five minutes, by video anywhere in California or in person in Santa Cruz County. A single session is $130, or take a block of four ($495), eight ($935) or twelve ($1,325) — the longer the block, the less each session costs, down to $110. Veterans and first responders get 15% off.
