How much does a life coach cost?
By Guiding Light Coaching · October 1, 2026
The short answer, for us: $130 for a single session, less if you commit to a block. Here is the full breakdown, and what actually changes the price.
Our prices
A single session is $130. A block of four is $495 ($124 a session), eight is $935 ($117 a session), and twelve is $1,325 ($110 a session) — paid up front and used at your own pace, not on a fixed schedule. Family coaching is different: it runs $1,800 a month across a three-month term, covering a weekly hour with the parent, a weekly hour with the young person, and a family session every other week. Veterans and first responders get 15% off everything.
Why a block costs less per session
The discount is deliberately shallow — roughly 5% to 15% off, not 50% — because steep discounting on an hour of someone's attention devalues the hour, and the ladder exists to reward commitment rather than to compete on price. A block also removes the weekly decision about whether to keep going, which matters more than the discount for most people.
What affects the price elsewhere
Life coaching rates vary a lot by region, format and the coach's own background — in-person coaching in a major city can run well past $200 to $300 a session, and some coaches price by outcome or package rather than by the hour. Ours is a flat per-session rate regardless of what you are working on — life, career, relationships or communication — because the format is the same for all of it: one coach, one hour, every week.
What's not included
There is no separate intake fee and no required minimum block. The first conversation, where we work out whether coaching is the right fit at all, is free. If a block ever stops making sense, the sessions you already paid for are simply the ones you used — nothing locks you into renewing.
